Mainaz Bano completed her BFA in 2009 and MFA in 2011 from Government College of Arts & Crafts, University of Lucknow. She has received scholarships granted by Lalit Kala Akademi, both at the national and state level, as well as awards from Lalit Kala Akademi, Lucknow, 2012, the all-India Aranya Best Painting Award, 2013, among many others, and has participated in workshops and art camps, including the regional Interactive Camp of Contemporary, Folk, Tribal and Traditional Artists, organized by the National Lalit Kala Akademi, Lucknow, 2013. She has been part of several group shows including at Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai, 2013, Art Next at Rabindra Bhavan, Delhi, 2012, Dhoomimal Art Gallery, Delhi, 2012, India Habitat Centre, Delhi, 2008, and has had solo shows at Apparao Galleries, Delhi and Chennai, in 2014 and 2015. Her work was selected for the fifth edition of the Beijing International Art Biennale, 2012. She has also participated in India Art Fair in 2014 and 2015. Mainaz grew up in Lucknow and is currently based in New Delhi.
